About
Philosophy Bachelor, Madrid Autónoma University (UAM), Fine Arts PhD, Barcelona University (UB): "Robotics as Artistic Experimentation. A Historical Approach to the Evolution of Automaton Machines from the Perspective of the Aesthetics". Currently, he is professor at Fine Arts Study (UB): teaches interactive systems, videoart and media art.

Iglesias’ work focuses on three main concepts. The first one is 'communication', understood as a basic human activity through which individuals relate to one another and establish social relationships, and in relation to which it is necessary to consider again the dialogic notion as well as reconsider the role of the addressee. Communication is a process in which, quoting Kaplún (1998), “two or more human beings or communities exchange and share experiences, knowledge and feelings, even if this is done remotely and through artificial means.” The second one is 'interaction', considering that the relationship between humans and machines, so far based on the usage, care and management of machines’ actions —that is to say, based on the mere handling of machines—, should develop in order to be based on a mutual and internal interaction. And 'control' as a unifying concept of the behaviors of modern societies, where the use of automated systems in registration and information processes does not mean the absence of a subjective intent on the global system and, therefore, handling.
