Bonjour Bonsoir Adieu Tristesse (BBAT)
Interactive installation managed by computer-aided system, Mac platform, G4, software Director 8.0; computer monitor, 8 ethernet plugs, videocassette, LCD MONITOR 2.9", wood, vinyl floor. Cultural Space Sérgio Porto, from Dec. 2001 to Feb. 2002, RJ, BR.
"Love is… Do you believe in love at first sight? Do you believe in commitment? What does romance mean to you? Can you describe love and romance with images?"
A three-dimensional structure, designed to fit ECSP Gallery, modulates that space by dislocating from its architecture volumes that suggest domestic scenarios. The surface of these volumes imitates the floor of the gallery.
This system works controlling a kind of jukebox which is activated by a connector’s junction. Nine video sequences wait: Plug and unplug. Only one sequence at a time is activated, a singular choice for each time (duration). The videos appear on the monitor of the counter-sideboard of the area-of-service-leisure-room-bathroom-kitchen. On the other side of the space-room, a small LCD monitor, applied to the counter-structure next to the connector junction, is hidden inside a trapezoid protection and shows an animation containing images of mouths, noses, eyes and small vaginas. It is a peephole, a trap for the voyeur and in this sequence no interference is possible.
