Field bed (folding metal frame), mattress, bed sheet, comforter, pitchfork, black rubbar hose, car muffler, rope, tape cassette (hidden in muffler)

Sound

A sound source hidden in the suspended car muffler held a recording of a diesal car engine idling.

Descriptions & Essays

Multi-media found object and audio installation. The handsome young god Amor comes only at night under the cover of darkness to lie with his mortal wife, Psyche. To protect her from the wrath of his jealous mother Venus he has Psyche and her family believe she has been sacrificed to a monster. Although repulsed by the idea of sleeping with a monster she comes to love and desire her unseen husband.
