Installation Requirements / Space
Working closely with Julius Popp, SAP has utilised its SAP BusinessObjects Text Analysis software to collect heavily used words from various news feeds, blogs and news sites according to popularity. These words are then fed in to a database which bit.code will draw from and visualise.
Descriptions & Essays
Julius Popp develops interdisciplinary works in which art and science converge. He trained as a photographer and studied at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. Popp has exhibited his work internationally. In 2003 he won the Robot Choice Award and in 2005 he was nominated for the ESA Space Design Award. Also in 2005, he won second prize for the Inspire Award, Germany. bit.code was commissioned by the V&A in partnership with SAP, and is situated in the V&A’s Grand Entrance.
