Modern high-tech border walls demonstrate how political solutions are being replaced by technical interventions. A clear illustration is the buttressing of “Fortress Europe” around the Spanish exclaves Ceuta and Melilla with double and triple-layered fences. Here approximately 20 kilometres of border separate the African continent from the EU. The aluminium tableau 'Borderroad' was developed for the exhibition DO NOT CROSS: The solo exhibition was dedicated to reflections upon borders, territories, and images from the “outside” that reach the “inside”.
