Global Collaborative Visual Mapping Archive (GCVMA) is an early collaboration with George Legrady. The project was presented at ISEA/01 in San Jose before morphing in the Cell Tango project. This are short clips of the project running through a couple different animations. Users submit photos and are invited to tag each others photos with descriptive text. We experimented with letting users leave "voice messages" for particular photos as well, which was an interesting idea, although we never ended up incorporating it into the project. The project was created before the advent of smart phones, at a time when "picture mail" always contained metadata including the users phone number. We used the area code to identify the location of the user.
