Descriptions & Essays
PIXELSHADE (I & II) The ‘PixelShades’ are part of a series of projects that were developed for the occasion of showing with Ingo Maurer in Milan & New York in 2006 and 2007. They are designed to print out any digital information (images, graphics and text) with light on a variety of light reactive surfaces. It can print out entire books without repeating itself once, and does that in an unprecedented 360 Degrees. The prototype is currently on show at the Christopher Henry Gallery in New York. ‚PixelShade II‘ / rAndom International 2006 (S.Wood, F. Ortkrass, H. Koch) aluminium stand, light reactive vinyl shade, circuit board, motor, rapid prototyped components, computer, custom software Dim: 180cm by 100cm Prototype For Ingo Maurer exhibition Milan 2006 / Christopher Henry Gallery / New York 2007
