'A profile like a witch' – I often thought when looking in the mirror, or when my shadow flits past me. Cosmetic surgery promises a remedy. But does that make us happier, better, more beautiful, more lovable? First the nose, then the chin, a bit more towards an ideal, too little expression, mask-like and rigid, more individuality, maybe the starting point was the best after all...
The mirror does not always reflect, what we want to see. But there are ways to find the self-portrait you were looking for. Even if beauty in the eye of the beholder, the surgeon sees it as an entity.
