echnical StatementDavid R. Burns and his research assistant, Josh Gumiela, created a physical cubic sculpture with embedded electronic sensors and connected it to a computer, projector and speakers to create the Cubey 1.0. The Cubey 1.0 incorporates a custom patch created with Max/MSP/Jitter software that enables its electronic sensors to measure users’ physical interaction with the physical cubic sculpture of the Cubey 1.0.

Light Sounds Live! (2008, live digital media audio-visual performance)
David R. Burns uses his imagination and custom digital performance technology to create Light Sounds Live!, a live interactive performance. Using projected color and light, Burns visualizes sounds and ambient sonic textures with abstract animations created in real-time using sensors to create a dynamic audio-visual score.
