In Sea-Changes (1997-98) artists age 50 or over, from a variety of disciplines, were invited to submit personal biographical materials to a common database. The original idea was to have them use that database as a basis from which create fictional biographies. Although many artists registered to participate, it turned out to be more difficult than anticipated to get people in this age group to see the project through to the end, particularly because this was still an early period of internet use. As there was some very good writing among the submissions, I by-pased the second stage of the project and posted the original biographical submissions. Visitors to the site can access the biographies and supporting materials by means of an image and text-based title page or by means of a 3-D VRML application--the VRML was designed to emphasize the idea in the original conception that the site held a multi-dimensional universe.
