Descriptions & Essays
Uršula Berlot 20-04-2020
The kaleidoscopic rhythmic structure of a recurring pattern is not a computer-generated picture, but a video recording taken on a digital camera and a kaleidoscopic instrument. The infinite recurrence of one and the same element in micro- and macro-measures within the fragmental but also well-ordered kaleidoscopic structure gives the impression of a hypnotic and meditative state. The projection of simulated vitriol into an architectural window niche reminds one of the ways light is used in sacral architecture, and at the same time challenges our perception of differentiation between the real and the illusory.
